Integra Optics to Unveil New Product at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo!

LATHAM, N.Y. October 9th, 2015 – Integra Optics, a leading global provider of fiber optic solutions, is revealing their brand new product – SmartCoder, at this year’s SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in New Orleans, October 13th – 16th.

Integra Optics’ SmartCoder allows users to easily reconfigure Integra Optics’ transceivers for any network hardware. Upon installing the SmartCoder application to a computer, users can recode or troubleshoot their own optics while out in the field. SmartCoder provides three plugs for SFP/SFP+, QSFP+ and XFP optical transceivers.

“With SmartCoder, network engineers have the ability to recode their optics whenever they need to while working out in the field,” says Scott Owens, Manager of Engineering & IT at Integra Optics. “They’ll be able to finish their projects more quickly and be more productive.”

Integra Optics recently completed a SmartCoder beta program with select customers, including Charter Communications, who were impressed by the product’s capabilities and how easily it can be used in the field. The feedback from Charter Communications’ employees was very positive and included such comments as: “The SmartCoder is easy to use – even without having to read directions,” “It’s a great tool to have in our crash kits,” and “The SmartCoder is quick, simple, and easy.”

The Integra Optics team is just as excited about the new SmartCoder as Charter Communications.

“The entire idea behind Integra Optics’ SmartCoder was to provide our customers with a solution that increases their efficiency, productivity, and ability to support their customers,” says Jean Sullivan, the Vice President of Operations at Integra Optics. “SmartCoder allows our customers to easily update and deploy their network architecture in order to better meet the demands of their customers.”

The Integra Optics team will be demonstrating the capabilities of SmartCoder at booth #1009 throughout all three days of the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo. Attendees will also have the opportunity to win a free SmartCoder by entering a raffle drawing at the booth. In addition, VIP wristbands to an exclusive event at the House of Blues will be given to attendees who check out the SmartCoder demo at Integra Optics’ booth.
