Brazil’s first and only Astronaut, Marcos Pontes, joins the company as Brand Ambassador. SAO PAULO, BRAZIL (January 26, 2016) – Executives from Integra Optics announced today during the Metroconnect 2016 Trade show the launch of their first international production facility in São Paulo, Brazil, which is the only facility of its kind in the region. America’s fastest-growing independent provider of fiber optic and HFC network components, Integra Optics’ new facility in São Paulo marks another significant milestone for the company as they continue to advance their international presence. The company’s decision to expand operations into Brazil is in response to the expanding customer base and the country’s rapidly increasing demand for network technologies. “There is a huge market demand in Brazil for expanded telecommunications and additional bandwidth, as more and more consumers are using the internet and commercial users migrate to the cloud,” says Integra Optics’ COO Jeff DeWeese. “Brazil is currently ranked #5 in the world for highest number of internet users, and that number is projected to grow by more than five percent in 2016. Our facility in Brazil is based on the model that fueled our success in the U.S. and is poised to meet that demand. This facility is our first engineering, custom coding and production facility with significant inventory south of the US-Mexico border.” The São Paulo facility is a self-sustaining operation with a team of in-house engineers that use their expertise to provide customers with 100% OEM compatible, high quality optical transceivers, passives and HFC network components. The entire Integra Optics product line is quality tested to ISO9001 certified standards; and custom coded on-site in Brazil to ensure compatibility with customers’ specific platforms. Integra Optics Brazil, is led by the division’s CEO, Odilon Claro de Oliveira Jr. “In the past, South and Central American MSO and telecommunication companies had no choice but to source products from overseas inventory, await shipping and customs delays and incur import tariffs. Today, we are able to service these companies better than anyone else in the industry. We stock significant inventory with a logistics-driven facility that ensures our customers receive orders at the fastest rate in the industry.” Integra Optics Brazil has also hired Brazilian Astronaut and Air Force pilot, Marcos Pontes, as an advisor and Brand Ambassador. Stationed in São Paulo, Pontes will work closely with Oliveira and his team to build brand awareness, develop new business strategies, and create new sales opportunities. “I believe investments in education, science and technology infrastructure are important to the future of Brazil,” Pontes noted. “So when I see a company like Integra Optics growing, adding jobs and making financial investments in my country, I embrace the opportunity for the company to succeed and the people of Brazil and South America to benefit. I am honored to be associated with this team.” About Integra Optics Integra Optics is one of America’s fastest-growing independent providers of fiber optic and HFC network components.
