Integra Optics Participating in 2015 Fireball Run!

UNIVERSAL FLORIDA – David Prescott, CEO, and Jeff DeWeese, COO, of leading, Albany, NY-based fiber optics solutions company, Integra Optics, have been selected to participate in Season 9, FIREBALL RUN Space Race, which is a Factual Entertainment adventure-travel competition show. Factual television is a genre of non-fiction featuring actual events and people. The 13 episode FIREBALL RUN is a streaming series in America, it is televised internationally and some portions are broadcasted live.

FIREBALL RUN is the story of a legendary 8-day, 2,000 mile life-sized trivia game where America is the game board. 40 driving teams embark upon an epic and emotional road trip; to score and win, they must solve trivia clues which lead them to places and moments they will never forget. All while aiding in a massive campaign called The Race to Recover America’s Missing Children.

In the FIREBALL RUN game driving teams are provided trivia clues scripted around unique points of interest. When solved the answer reveals a location which the teams must travel to. Upon arrival to the destination they accomplish tasks and activities, most of which are once in a lifetime, rare, historic or exclusive experiences. Teams achieve points for successful activity completion. Contestants are competing for bragging rights, a greater cause, and a plastic road sign.

Prescott and DeWeese are representing Monique Santiago, who was abducted on March 29, 1990 from the city of Albany, NY. Throughout the race, Prescott and DeWeese, who are competing as I-Team, will be distributing 1,000 posters in an effort to raise awareness for the missing child. FIREBALL RUN’s media campaign has resulted in the successful recovery of 45 missing children. This will be Integra Optics’ third consecutive year participating in the race, and the company is proud to partake in an outstanding event that raises awareness of missing children.

The highly complex production is filmed in “real time” (i.e. as it happens) over 8 days beginning in Hartford, CT September 26^th through October 3^rd finishing in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Contestants are not road racing; in fact, their driving speed is monitored in by AmberAlertGPS®.
