JoAnn brings a new depth of expertise to the engineering department at Integra Optics following a decorated 22-year Navy career. Her service background and engineering experience will aid Integra’s mission to increase network reliability and availability among customers and achieve 100% uptime to end-users.
As Engineering Manager, JoAnn, is responsible for overseeing the development of engineering processes associated with sales team backing, as well as providing technical support, product testing and certification, quality assurance and product development duties.
Prior to joining Integra Optics in 2018, Swapp served in the U.S. Navy as Lieutenant Commander, retiring in June 2018. Ten of her active duty years were as an enlisted Nuclear Electrician, reaching the rank of Chief Petty Officer. JoAnn went on to serve another 12 years as an Engineering Limited Duty Officer.
JoAnn’s professional accomplishments include:
- Awarded four Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, six Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and a Sea Service Ribbon.
- Earned a B.S. in Human Resource Management from New School University, a M.S in Human Resource Management from Trident University, and a Project Management Certificate from Villanova University.
When she’s not adjusting our engineering processes to the growing needs of the company or providing the best equipment and experience for our customers, JoAnn enjoys spending time with her Boxer, Bronx and watching baseball (New York Yankees). She also supports and volunteers her time with homeless prevention organizations.
